RNLI Diver Sea Survival Course
RNLI Diver Sea Survival Course
This course has been designed by the RNLI in conjunction with all the main training agencies plus the HSE, MOD and the Coastguard. The purpose is to cover knowledge and skills so divers are more prepared and skilled to dive in the UK environment.

it is great preparation for diving off the Norfolk coast and elsewhere around the UK coastline and is a good reminder of key safety procedures aswell as introducing new skills.
What Will You Learn?
The course covers:

pre dive planning (site conditions, tides and appropriate entry and exit points)

reinforcing buddy procedures and additional considerations when diving in low visibiity
-
ensuring equipment is suitable for the local environment

appropriate emergency equipment (oxygen and first aid kit plus audible and visual emergency equipment to alert RNLI)
-
using surface marker buoys
-
effective emergency surface positions to maintain position, diver contact and warmth (group huddle, contact with a stationary object and crouch position)
Knowledge Development
You can download the FREE course materials from the RNLI website.
A classroom session with a qualified PADI Instructor will ensure that you fully understand the information.
Course Pre-requisites

As long as you are a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) you can begin this Speciality Diver course.

You must be a minimum of 12 years old.
Open Water Dives
There are 2 Open Water qualifying dives, usually completed over 2 days due to tide conditions and times.
