We start new courses every week and can offer flexible scheduling as we have our own on-site swimming pool and classrooms so just pop into the Norwich dive shop or give us a call or email to discuss getting started.
We have an excellent team of friendly and experienced Instructors who will make sure that your course is suited to your needs, taken at your own pace and that you enjoy the course throughout.

Train in our heated on-site swimming pool
Learning to dive is one of the most rewarding things you'll do and we want to make sure that you get the most out of your course. We run small class sizes to ensure personal tuition and offer additional sessions and drysuit training at no extra cost.
All of our students have become great friends throughout their course and the majority have continued to dive around the UK and on holidays with us.
If you have further questions about the Open Water Course, check our FAQ page or, alternatively, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Course Pre-requisites
-
The course is suitable for anyone aged 10 and above, in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water.

-
A Medical Questionnaire must be filled in prior to the first confined water session. If you answer 'yes' to any question you need to get medical clearance from your GP prior to diving.
Knowledge Development
You get a great course manual and DVD, or can use the PADI digital materials, which explain everything you need to know about learning to dive. You can study these in your own time at your own pace and then have 2 or 3 classroom / workshop sessions with your Instructor who can answer any questions and explain more about the subjects covered.

Confined Water Dives
During your 5 Confined Water sessions in our on-site pool, you'll learn the skills necessary to dive safely and with confidence; perfecting buoyancy and learning to clear your mask of water are among the fun and exciting skills that your Instructor will teach you.
You don't have to be a strong swimmer as long as you can complete a 200-metre swim and a 10 minute tread water.
Open Water Dives
There are 4 Open Water qualifying dives, during which you will demonstrate the skills that you have learnt during your confined water sessions.
These dives are normally conducted over two days at the inland dive site of Stoney Cove and are a great weekend away to perfect your new skills. Alternatively, if you don't want to dive in the UK, you can complete these 4 dives abroad under the 'referral' option.
All our UK open water dives are carried out in drysuits which mean that you can stay dry and warm and enjoy your first dive experiences.
