Indonesia has some of the most amazing diving in the world and we are doing a 2 location trip to get the best of both worlds and experience the fantastic variety that the area has to offer.  Lembeh Strait is world famous for it's critter or 'muck' diving and you will see so many weird and wonderful creatures that you don't get anywhere else.  It is an underwater photographers dream!   Bunaken National Marine Park is a complete contrast with clear blue water, big walls,  turtles and pelagics.

Our trip starts at the beautiful Lembeh Resort which houses a maximum of 40 guests and is located on Lembeh Island itself so is perfectly placed to  access the amazing dive sites.   A typical dive day at Lembeh resort includes 2 boat dives in the morning, lunch then afternoon house reef dives. Most of the 30+ dive sites are found in calm bays within the Lembeh Strait and can be reached in less than 15 mins.

There are 2 different room grades at the Lembeh resort - deluxe ocean view cottages or garden view rooms.  All have air con, en suite bathrooms, king size double or twin beds, a water dispenser, tea and coffee, fridge and electronic safe. The deluxe cottages have 2 styles, and are either built in the traditional Minahasan style or modern cliffside. The 9 of the deluxe cottages are fully detached with glorious sea views and open air showers, the further 2 have larger double bungalows (semi-detached).  4 of the deluxe cottages can sleep up to 4 people, with a separate living and bedroom area. There are 4 deluxe cottages that are nestled in the cliffside and are a touch more modern. The newer garden view rooms are located close to the dive centre, surrounded by the tropical gardens in resort and share a veranda.

If you are not underwater at Lembeh resort, you are relaxing! The restaurant serves a mouth watering mix of local and international dishes, all freshly prepared. The spa is a must for aching muscles or if you are feeling adventurous, a wide range of land activities can be arranged locally.

We then move to Siladen Resort & Spa which is located on Bunaken Island and sits on 300m of white sandy beach.   This lovely resort prides itself on a 5 star diving experience at a price that you can afford.   There are only 20 villas at Siladen resort, with the choice of 4 rooms grades. The 3 new luxury villas feature a king size 4 poster bed and living room, opening up onto your own terrace with outdoor seating and private salt water spa bath. The 6 beach villas sit right on the beach front with their own sundeck and private sun beds. The 10 garden view villas are set back slightly from the beach front and have double/twin rooms and a balcony outside. All have air con, fresh water, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar, safe and TV

All reefs around the islands of the Bunaken National Marine Park are suitable for snorkeling as they come up as shallow as 3m in depth so you enjoy great snorkeling right off the Resort beach.    In terms of the diving the Bunaken Marine Park is known for its rich macro life and is mostly characterized by wall dives rich in hard and soft corals. Pelagics such as reef sharks (black tip, white tip), eagle rays, barracudas, tuna, napoleon wrasses and turtles are also a common sight. There are over 50 dives sites within easy reach of the Resort and the currents around Bunaken can be strong at times so most dives are conducted as drift dives.

The transfer between the 2 resorts can be done by boat with a couple of dives along the way.  The resorts transfer the luggage by land so we just have to take our dive kit and wetsuits - lovely!  And no need to dry it and re-pack it!
