MV Hurricane (click for details)

We are returning to the Southern Red Sea to do the fabulous Daedalus, Rocky & St Johns itinerary which takes in some of the best sites in the area. With walls, pinnacles, caves and night diving the itinerary is packed with action.

Our home for the week, Hurricane, is 36 metres long, was completely refitted in 2018 and has won Liveaboard of the year for 3 years. All cabins have private en suite bathrooms and air conditioning. There are 11 cabins split between the main and lower deck and the 4 main deck cabins are a mix of twin and doubles. This is a spacious liveaboard that we are excited about returning to for another trip.

The Daedalus, Rocky and St Johns itinerary combines high octane walls, drifts and sharks with the beautiful reef systems of the southern Red Sea.  Stretching south from Marsa Alam get face to face with the remarkable diversity that makes the deep south so rich and rewarding for divers. Walls, shallow caves and beautiful pinnacles are all on the menu alongside large pelagic encounters.

Check dive under your belt, the boat sails south. Overnighting to Daedalus, the first of the big wall dive sites looms large. Daedalus is the place for exhilarating drift dives and the first shark sightings. Hammerheads and Mantas are often seen at Daedalus so expect some beautiful dives into the blue to spot these beautiful creatures.  Oceanic white tips also cruise the shallows in the summer months, right through to the year end.  From there we dive at Rocky and Zabagad where coral towers and plunging drop offs are the order of the day. St Johns is only a short hop away where diving is a thrilling mixture of sunken reef tops, steep walls and shallow caves systems. Rare bumphead parrot fish are commonly seen chomping hard corals at Habili Kebr. Abu Bassala boasts fine anemone gardens, stonefish and baby white tips. The shallow cave systems to the north of St Johns are a fun and unusual dive. Returning north does not mean the end of this itinerary. The succulent coral gardens of Fury Shoal and Wadi Gamal are just as spectacular and finish the week on a high.

The walls and drifts at Daedalus are fairly advanced dives and  not suitable for beginners although Rocky and St Johns are suitable for all levels.
