| Course Name |
Open Water Referral |
|
| Overview |
The Open Water Referral course is the same as the Open Water Diver course (see Open Water page) but you complete the open water dives overseas with another centre. |
|
| General Content |
The course consists of knowledge development & confined water training sessions. |
|
| Requirements |
Minimum age is 10.
A PADI Medical Questionnaire must be filled in prior to the first confined water session. |
|
| Knowledge Development |
Knowledge development is based around self-study from the PADI Open Water manual and DVD, allowing you to study in your own time at your own pace. This is supported by sessions with your Instructor who can answer any questions and explain more about the subjects covered.
If you are short of time you can complete the theory online via the PADI e-learning web service. |
|
| Confined Water |
During your 5 confined water sessions, you will learn the skills necessary to dive safely and with confidence. Perfecting buoyancy and learning to clear your mask of water are among the fun and exciting skills that your PADI Instructor will teach you.Various skills must be demonstrated prior to the open water phase of the course. You don't have to be a strong swimmer as long as you can complete a 200-metre swim and a 10 minute tread water. |
