Course Details: Emergency First Response ...

Course Name Emergency First Response

Overview
This first aid course is a must for divers and non-divers alike.  Accidents and illnesses can happen at home, at work or while out and about.  This course prepares you to be able to provide help to those in need.

PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) is the fastest-growing international CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid training organisation.

The EFR course encompasses adult, child and infant CPR skills and provides AED and First Aid training.

General Content Emergency First Response consists of Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care. Primary Care teaches you to react to life-threatening emergencies and includes a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure you have the confidence to provide care when emergency situations arise.

Secondary Care covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening such as shock management and bandaging. You'll look at secondary assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice.

Requirements None. You don't even need to be a PADI Open Water Diver.

Knowledge Development This classroom-based course takes place over a weekend. The EFR course is structured similar to other PADI courses, with knowledge reviews to ensure you've fully understood all sections and practical sessions teach you how to react to various emergencies safely and effectively. A short test at the end of the theory section confirms you've understood everything.
